President Donald Trump said the United States would attack Iran and do so “very hard” when asked to clarify his earlier remarks that Tehran would have to “pay the price” for taking too long to reach an agreement, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump stated: “Well, we’re going to be attacking them, and attacking them very hard.”

When asked whether his comments meant that the United States would resume its bombing campaign against Iran, Trump responded: “Yeah, well, based on the helicopter, I guess we have the right to do that.”

Trump has accused Iran of shooting down a US Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz.
