US President Donald Trump defended his handling of the conflict with Iran following the NATO summit in Ankara, saying he remains Tehran's “number one target.”

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Trump suggested that Iran's leadership had been significantly weakened, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iran International.

“They had leaders, they’re gone... Now they have another set of leaders. They may be gone,” Trump said.

He added that he also considers himself a primary target for Tehran.

“And you know what, I may be gone too, because I’m their number one target,” Trump said.
