US President Donald Trump said Monday that he is considering reviving “Project Freedom,” but warned that escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz would be just one part of a broader military campaign this time around.

Trump said Iran’s “hardline leaders” would eventually retreat from their position, The Caspian Post reports, citing Fox News.

“They're going to fold,” he said.

When asked whether he could cooperate with Iran’s current leadership, Trump replied: “I will deal with them until they make a deal.”

Trump also claimed that Iranian negotiators told him Tehran does not have the capability to clean up radioactive material at its destroyed nuclear facilities and said the United States would need to recover the “nuclear dust.”
