A U.S. F-15 fighter jet has been reportedly shot down over southern Iran, seemingly by Iranian air defense systems.
The two pilots ejected safely over Iranian territory and landed in southern Iran, The Caspian Post reports via OSINTdefender.
About an hour later, an American-Israeli rescue team reportedly reached them and extracted them from Iranian territory. They were then transferred to a U.S. military base in Saudi Arabia, sustaining only minor injuries.
The Pentagon is expected to issue an official clarification on the incident soon, amid rising tensions in the region.
