The 16th Asian Shooting Championship is currently taking place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, featuring 756 athletes from 29 countries.
Kyrgyzstan’s national team delivered an impressive performance, competing in air pistol (AP-60), air rifle (AR-60), and small-bore rifle (SB-60) events, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
In the pistol competition, Anvar Ibraimov and Kairgul Kubanychbekova secured a bronze medal for Kyrgyzstan. The team also earned another bronze in the rifle event, with Abdurazzak Muratov and Zhibek Bektashova finishing third.
“Our athletes climbed the podium twice, reaffirming the high level of Kyrgyzstan’s shooting school on the international stage,” the National Shooting Federation said in a statement.
