Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov has said that Azerbaijan expressed readiness to increase the transit of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline to 2.2 million tons per year.
Currently, Kazakhstan ships 1.2 million tons of oil annually via the BTC pipeline as part of efforts to develop alternative export routes, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
The proposed increase would nearly double the transit capacity, enhancing Kazakhstan’s access to international markets.
