Carousel Accident in Kazakhstan: Children’s Cabin Suddenly Drops

A frightening incident has unfolded in Kazakhstan's capital Astana after a ride cabin carrying children detached from a carousel in the city’s central park.

The incident was first shared by a local resident on social media. She said the cabin with her two daughters broke loose after several rotations, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The ride was immediately shut down. Park officials described the case as unprecedented, claiming the malfunction was caused by a foreign object entering the mechanism.

“This is a one-in-a-million incident. We’ve already identified a full technical solution to prevent it from happening again,” said park management head Gani Khasenov.

Despite the crash, the ride was small and no serious injuries were reported. The attraction remains closed pending additional safety inspections.

The incident has again raised concerns about amusement ride safety in Kazakhstan. Earlier, senator Nuriya Niyazova called for stricter regulations governing their operation.
