Kazakhstan’s national meteorological agency, Kazhydromet, has issued a comprehensive weather forecast for September 26, highlighting the impact of a northern cyclone sweeping across the country.
The forecast warns of adverse weather conditions including rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and heightened fire risks in several regions, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
According to forecasters, the northern cyclone and its accompanying frontal systems will bring widespread precipitation and storm activity to most parts of the country. Only the east and southeast regions are expected to remain dry under the influence of a stabilizing high-pressure ridge.
Wind intensification is predicted nationwide, with fog expected to develop during the night and early morning hours. Southern Kazakhstan is also bracing for a dust storm, adding to the day’s hazardous conditions.
A sharp drop in overnight temperatures is forecast for parts of East Kazakhstan, where ground frost reaching -1°C is expected. Kazhydromet is also warning of elevated fire risks in multiple areas, as dry and windy conditions persist.
Regions under high fire danger alerts include:
Northern West Kazakhstan,
Eastern Pavlodar,
Northeastern Atyrau,
Southeastern Mangistau,
Southern Aktobe.
The risk of extreme fire danger is even more pronounced in:
Turkistan and Kyzylorda,
Northern, southern, and eastern Atyrau,
Western, northern, and central Zhambyl,
Western, southern, and eastern West Kazakhstan,
Western, northern, northeastern, and central Aktobe,
Northern Almaty,
Southern Karaganda and Kostanay,
Ulytau region.
Kazhydromet urges residents, agricultural workers, and emergency services to remain vigilant and take appropriate safety measures, especially in areas with active fire warnings.
