An earthquake was recorded in Kazakhstan's Almaty city on September 28 morning.

“An earthquake has been recorded in Kazakhstan. Information is being clarified. The seismic stations network has registered an earthquake. According to preliminary information, the seismic event was recorded in Almaty,” Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said, according to Interfax.

Officials are still assessing the intensity of the tremors and how strongly they were felt in the city.

Meanwhile, residents of Almaty reported feeling the shaking on Monday morning. Some people left buildings and gathered outside as the tremors were felt across parts of the city.
