Three children from the same family reportedly died in a house fire in Baktybay village in Kazakhstan’s Eskeldi district on September 25.

The victims were a one-year-old, a five-year-old and an eight-year-old child. A fourth child, aged 14, managed to escape the burning house, according to Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The fire broke out in the morning at a barracks-style residential building where four families lived. One neighbor reportedly managed to remove the five-year-old child through a window, but the child could not be saved.

The fire completely destroyed one apartment. The roofs of two other apartments collapsed, while a fourth apartment was reportedly at risk of collapse.

Three children were buried on September 26. Their mother is reportedly in serious condition.
