A fire broke out on Tengiz oil field, Kazakhstan’s largest oil site, on March 11, with no reported casualties.
The blaze occurred at one of Tengiz’s facilities but did not halt oil production. Tengizchevroil (TCO) stated it is conducting a review to determine the root cause following established safety procedures, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Oil production at Tengiz resumed on March 11 after a brief interruption caused by power outages. Previously, on January 18, transformer fires forced TCO to suspend operations at both the Tengiz and Korolev oil fields.
