Free Indian Visas Now Available for Kazakh Travelers

India has decided to waive visa fees for citizens of Kazakhstan.

The exemption applies to tourist visas, medical visas, and visas for accompanying people, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Kazakh travelers can apply via India’s e-Visa online portal or through Indian diplomatic missions in Astana, Almaty, and other countries. Indian authorities said the move is aimed at boosting tourism and strengthening bilateral ties.

Earlier, Kazakhstan announced stricter sanitary controls at the border following reports of a new virus detected in India. The Health Ministry advised travelers planning trips to India to follow preventive measures and to seek medical attention promptly if any concerning symptoms appear after returning.

Nipah is a zoonotic infection that can spread through close contact with an infected person or animals-such as bats and pigs-and via contaminated food or beverages. In severe cases, the virus can affect the central nervous system.
