Kazakh President Awards Turkmen Counterpart with Altyn Qyran Order

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has presented Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Altyn Qyran (Golden Eagle) Order - Kazakhstan’s highest state honor.

During the ceremony, Tokayev praised Berdimuhamedov as a respected statesman of a new generation - a progressive, capable leader who is steadily strengthening Turkmenistan’s statehood, economic capacity, and international influence, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

Tokayev noted that Turkmenistan has shown impressive economic growth under Berdimuhamedov’s leadership, along with rapid modernization of industry and transport infrastructure. He highlighted Turkmenistan’s active efforts to expand energy capacity, promote technological upgrades, and carry out major social projects that improve education, science, and overall living standards.

The Kazakh leader also commended Turkmenistan’s diplomatic achievements, noting Ashgabat’s growing international authority. He pointed to the UN General Assembly’s decision to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust - an initiative proposed by Turkmenistan - as a strong example of the country’s commitment to global stability.

Tokayev emphasized Berdimuhamedov’s personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership, friendship, and mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

In response, President Berdimuhamedov thanked Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for the honor.

Over the past five years, mutual trade between the two countries has increased more than fourfold - a sign of rapidly growing cooperation and deepening regional ties.
