Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan Seal New Partnership Deal in Astana

Kazakh Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov have signed a joint statement in Astana following their bilateral talks.

During the meeting, members of both countries’ official delegations exchanged a wide range of intergovernmental and interagency documents in the presence of the two heads of state, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The agreements and memorandums signed aim to deepen cooperation across cultural, economic, scientific, and technical sectors.

The documents include:

Agreement on cooperation in cultural and humanitarian affairs between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan;

Agreement on cooperation in migration between both governments;

Agreement on information exchange in pension provision between the labor and social protection ministries of the two countries;

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on legal cooperation between the justice ministries;

MoU on veterinary cooperation between the agriculture ministries;

MoU between Kazakhstan’s National Agrarian Science and Education Center and Turkmenistan’s Scientific and Research Institute of Grain Production;

Joint action plan to expand transport cooperation in 2026-2027;

Plan of key measures to enhance cooperation between the health ministries of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for 2026-2027;

MoU between the Mangystau region (Kazakhstan) and the Balkan region (Turkmenistan) to promote trade, economic, scientific-technical, and cultural-humanitarian ties;

MoU in the field of science between the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan;

Agreement on cooperation in the information and media sphere between the Kazakh President’s TV and Radio Complex and Turkmenistan’s State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography.
