Kazakh Leader Welcomes Turkmen Counterpart in Astana for High-Level Talks

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Akorda Residence, marking the start of an official visit.

Following tradition, a Guard of Honor lined the Ceremonial Hall as the Presidential Orchestra performed the national anthems of both countries, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The two leaders then walked along the blue carpet toward Kazakhstan’s State Flag before beginning a narrow-format meeting.

Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aibek Smadyarov said that the presidents are set to hold high-level discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and exploring new avenues for regional cooperation.
