Kazakh Wrestler Scores Silver in Greco-Roman Showdown

Kazakh wrestler Dias Seitkaliyev has delivered a strong performance at the U20 World Wrestling Championships, earning a silver medal in the Greco-Roman category.

Competing in the 82 kg weight class, Seitkaliyev advanced through the competition to reach the final round, where he faced Mikhail Shkarin. Despite a determined effort, the Kazakh wrestler fell short, losing 1:4 and finishing as the runner-up, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Seitkaliyev’s silver is Kazakhstan’s only medal so far in the Greco-Roman discipline at the 2025 tournament.

Earlier in the competition, Kazakh athlete Anna Stratan secured a bronze medal in the women’s division, further highlighting the country’s growing presence in youth wrestling on the international stage.
