Kazakhstan has become the largest buyer of Russian chocolate confectionery, purchasing around 684,500 tonnes of products from Russia between 2010 and 2025.
China ranked second, importing more than 324,000 tonnes of Russian chocolate products over the same period. Belarus followed with over 323,000 tonnes, while Uzbekistan purchased around 257,000 tonnes and Azerbaijan approximately 234,000 tonnes, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.
Overall, Russia exported more than 3.15 million tonnes of chocolate confectionery over the past 15 years.
To illustrate the scale of these exports, experts offered several comparisons. The total volume is equivalent to approximately:
46,500 loaded covered freight railcars;
31.5 billion chocolate bars weighing 100 grams each;
Four chocolate bars for every person on Earth.
