In Astana, Askhat Khasenov, Chairman of KazMunayGas (KMG), has met with Marijan Krpan, head of the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency (CHA), to discuss cooperation on the Shygys geological exploration project in Aktobe region, Kazakhstan.
Earlier, during KMG’s global roadshow, the Croatian side was presented with prospective hydrocarbon projects. CHA specialists reviewed geological data and conducted their own analysis, expressing interest in the Shygys project, The Caspian Post reports via KazMunaiGas.
As part of the search for a strategic partner, Geoenergija Razvoj d.o.o, a 100 per cent CHA subsidiary, submitted an application. The companies are now finalizing key documentation, including joint activity and financing agreements.
Meanwhile, KMG is reprocessing historical 2D seismic data for Shygys as part of its geological studies.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between Kazakhstan and Croatia in the exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources.
