Kazakhstan Extradites Woman from Türkiye Over $280K Fraud

Kazakhstan has extradited a woman from Türkiye who is suspected of defrauding residents of Kyzylorda.

In 2024, the woman promised to buy jewelry at discounted prices but deceived her victims instead, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Authorities said her actions caused material damage totaling around 130 million tenge (roughly $280,000) and affected eight people.

After committing the crimes, the suspect fled abroad and was placed on an international wanted list. She is now in pretrial detention in Kazakhstan and faces five to ten years in prison, along with possible confiscation of property.
