Kazakhstan, France Ratify Agreement on Citizen Readmission

The Kazakh parliament has ratified the Readmission Agreement with France, signed on November 5, 2024, in Paris.

The agreement establishes a legal framework for the bilateral return of individuals residing illegally in either country, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

It allows citizens to return to their home country if they violate stay conditions, such as losing identity documents. Kazakh citizens in France can now return without sanctions, with the French Ministry of the Interior assisting in processing necessary documents.

The pact also sets procedures for the coordinated reception, transfer, and transit of third-country nationals and stateless persons to their countries of nationality or permanent residence. Earlier, Kazakhstan ratified a similar agreement with Estonia.
