Kazakhstan Rolls Out $3.5B Industrial Push

Kazakhstan is set to roll out nearly 200 new industrial projects in 2026 worth a total of $3.5 billion.

The large-scale investment drive is expected to significantly boost domestic production and create around 19,400 permanent jobs across key sectors of the economy, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Fertilizers, Heavy Industry, Machinery

Among the planned projects are facilities for the production of mineral fertilizers, ferrosilicon, and a forging-and-wheel complex, as well as plants manufacturing heavy trucks and road construction equipment.

Officials say that once all projects reach full capacity, total annual output could reach approximately 2.3 trillion tenge ($4.641 billion). Of that amount:

Around 0.5 trillion tenge ($1.009 billion) is expected to be export-oriented production

About 1.5 trillion tenge ($3.027 billion) will contribute to import substitution

The initiative is part of Kazakhstan’s broader strategy to strengthen industrial self-sufficiency while expanding export potential.

Digital Shift Becomes Mandatory

In parallel with industrial expansion, Kazakhstan plans to introduce a regulatory framework for digitalization in the industrial sector in 2026.

Starting in 2027, the use of digital twins will become a mandatory standard for industrial enterprises. According to the Ministry of Industry and Construction, this means key production processes will transition into a fully managed digital environment.

The next stage will involve integrating Big Data and artificial intelligence into geological exploration. AI-driven solutions are expected to be connected to the country’s Unified Subsoil Use Platform, enhancing efficiency and data-driven decision-making in resource development.

The combined push toward industrial growth and digital transformation signals Kazakhstan’s ambition to modernize its production base while positioning itself as a competitive manufacturing and resource-processing hub in the region.
