Kazakhstan’s Dunga oilfield has officially crossed a significant production milestone, with total oil output exceeding 9 million tons since the commencement of operations.
Operated by Dunga Operating GmbH, in which national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG) holds a 60 per cent ownership stake, the oilfield continues demonstrating robust performance, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
Located in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangystau Region, the field yielded 340,000 tons of oil in the first half of 2025, surpassing its production plan by over 7,000 tons.
For comparison, the field produced 630,000 tons of oil in 2024, and the production target for the current year is set at 649,300 tons.
KMG attributed the upward trend and the 9-million-ton milestone to the restoration of the reservoir pressure maintenance system, which has played a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and sustaining production levels.
