Kazakhstan’s FlyArystan Increases Astana–Urumqi Air Services

Kazakh low-cost carrier FlyArystan is expanding its international schedule, increasing flight frequency on the Astana-Urumqi route amid growing demand for travel between Kazakhstan and western China.

Between August 21 and October 24, 2026, additional services will be added to the existing schedule, strengthening connectivity between the two regional hubs, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Under the updated timetable, flights from Astana to Urumqi will now operate on Fridays, alongside current services on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

In the opposite direction, Urumqi-Astana flights will include an extra Saturday service, complementing existing departures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Urumqi remains one of FlyArystan’s key international destinations, serving as a major transport and business hub in western China and playing a strategic role in Kazakhstan-China trade and logistics links.

The expansion comes as regional air connectivity continues to grow. Direct flights between Astana and Ulaanbaatar are also set to launch in June, operated by SCAT Airlines, further broadening Kazakhstan’s aviation network across Asia.
