Kazakhstan showcased its vision for greener, smarter and more climate-resilient cities at the World Urban Forum 13 in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, presenting a national pavilion focused on sustainable urban development and modern infrastructure solutions.
The pavilion highlights Kazakhstan’s latest approaches to eco-friendly city planning, featuring digital urban management tools, public space modernization projects and large-scale greening initiatives, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
A key attraction is the Green ID project, designed to strengthen climate resilience and create a modern ecological environment in urban areas.
Built with eco-friendly materials and open architectural concepts, the pavilion combines live greenery, open terraces and interactive displays. A large LED screen presents Kazakhstan’s urban transformation projects and models of future-ready infrastructure.
Yelnar Bazyken from Astana’s Urban Center said the pavilion reflects Kazakhstan’s comprehensive approach to urban development, where sustainability, quality of life and harmony with nature are central priorities.
Meanwhile, Murat Ryssdavletov, deputy chairman of Kazakhstan’s construction and housing committee, said the country is introducing unified city design standards through its new Construction Code. The reforms aim to improve architecture, landscaping, navigation systems and urban visual identity nationwide.
Kazakhstan’s delegation is actively participating in discussions on sustainable development, climate adaptation, digital transformation and the future of urban planning during the forum in Baku.
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov also attended the global urban development event.
