Kazakhstan's Kostanay Region is set to launch 42 agricultural investment projects worth 553.1 billion tenge, as the government ramps up efforts to expand food processing, modernize storage infrastructure, and strengthen the country's export capacity.
During a working visit to the region, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov reviewed several flagship projects designed to boost value-added agricultural production and improve logistics across one of Kazakhstan's key farming regions, Kazinform reports.
Among the largest investments is a 7 billion tenge pasta production plant to be built by Kaizen LLP, a leading processor of legumes and grains. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 90,000 tons and is expected to enhance Kazakhstan's food exports.
Kaizen already processes up to 180,000 tons of peas, lentils, chickpeas, and wheat each year, supplying markets including Afghanistan, Türkiye, India, Algeria, and Kyrgyzstan.
"Today, the competitiveness of the agricultural sector depends not only on production volumes, but also on the depth of processing, modern storage facilities, and efficient logistics. Under the President's instructions, the Government will provide comprehensive support to investors establishing high value-added production facilities," Saparov said.
The minister also inspected construction of a modern vegetable storage complex being developed by Halyk Agro Kst LLP. The facility will be capable of storing 5,200 tons of produce and is one of three projects receiving preferential financing under the Ken Dala 2 program, which expands a successful agricultural support model first introduced in North Kazakhstan Region.
Halyk Agro Kst Director Bakir Bekirov said that government-backed financing has enabled the company to rapidly expand its operations.
"The program has opened up new opportunities for our business, allowing us to significantly increase production capacity and modernize our equipment. Just five years ago, we were a small family-run farm. Today, thanks to the support of the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture, we are able to expand production and continue investing in development," he said.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the region's 2026-2028 Roadmap includes 42 investment projects worth a combined 553.1 billion tenge. Six major projects valued at 34.9 billion tenge are scheduled for completion in 2026, including five dairy farms and a modern food production complex.
The government is also expanding financial support for farmers. More than 569 agricultural producers have received 52 billion tenge in concessional financing through the Ken Dala 2 program to support spring sowing and harvesting across 662,500 hectares.
In addition, producers are modernizing their machinery through subsidized leasing. So far, 499 leasing agreements have been signed for the purchase of 641 agricultural machines worth 40.7 billion tenge.
Concluding the visit, Saparov called on regional authorities to closely monitor project implementation, ensure efficient use of public funds, complete construction on schedule, and prepare thoroughly for the upcoming harvest season.
