As part of his official visit to Türkiye, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Hüseyin Barlin, Chairman of S Sistem Lojistik, to discuss expanding long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the logistics sector.
President Tokayev highlighted Kazakhstan’s growing role as a key transit hub in Eurasia, underscoring the country’s commitment to developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
A major point of discussion was S Sistem Lojistik’s proposal to establish a logistics hub at Aktobe International Airport in partnership with Kazakhstan’s national postal operator, KazPost company. President Tokayev welcomed the initiative, noting its importance for improving regional connectivity and freight efficiency.
Barlin shared plans to further expand the company’s footprint across Kazakhstan, targeting major cities such as Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and Aktau. President Tokayev reaffirmed the government’s support for strengthening logistics infrastructure, which he said would reduce delivery times and enhance Kazakhstan’s export potential.
S Sistem Lojistik currently operates a 10,000-square-meter network of advanced warehouse facilities across Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya, and is regarded as a leader in Türkiye’s logistics industry.
President Tokayev’s visit to Türkiye began with a formal welcome by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Ankara’s Esenboğa Airport, where a Guard of Honor was assembled. The two presidents briefly exchanged greetings before Tokayev commenced his official program, which included a visit to the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.
Later, Presidents Tokayev and Erdoğan are scheduled to hold high-level talks focused on strengthening the Kazakhstan-Türkiye strategic partnership. The fifth session of the Kazakhstan-Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) is also expected to take place.
