A man in Kazakhstan has been seen attacking a child at a playground in Karaganda in an incident that has sparked public outrage after video of the confrontation circulated on social media.
The incident occurred at a playground on Trudovaya Street, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
“A simple conflict arose between children, as often happens in residential yards. However, the situation escalated when one of the children called their parents. Adults arrived at the scene, and instead of calmly resolving the issue, the man used force against another person’s child: he first strangled him, then began shaking him. The child fell to the ground and began to suffocate,” the post stated.
The Karaganda regional police department confirmed that the incident was identified during social media monitoring. Officers found footage showing a conflict between a minor and an adult man in the courtyard of a residential building.
No official complaints had been filed, but all participants were quickly identified and taken to the police station for questioning.
A full investigation is now underway to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident. Police said each participant’s actions will be given a legal assessment based on the findings.
Officials stressed that all conflicts must be resolved strictly within the legal framework.
“Any unlawful actions are unacceptable, regardless of the reasons or circumstances,” the Karaganda regional police department said.
