Kazakh Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev has expressed Kazakhstan's strong support for the establishment of the Zangezur Corridor, recognizing it as a vital part of building a unified and sustainable transport infrastructure across the region.
Sauranbayev made these remarks during the 21st session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
“The Zangezur Corridor project holds special significance and is regarded by Kazakhstan as an essential element in forming a cohesive and sustainable transport architecture for the region. We fully back this initiative of our Azerbaijani brothers,” Sauranbayev said.
He also highlighted the impressive growth in container traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), noting that volumes nearly tripled by the end of 2024 and have doubled again in the first eight months of 2025, underscoring the increasing importance of regional connectivity.
