President Tokayev Hails Rapid Growth in Kazakhstan-China Economic Ties

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has praised the rapid growth of trade and economic collaboration between Kazakhstan and China.

President Tokayev notes that in recent years, Kazakhstan and China “have witnessed renewed dynamism, driven by a common vision for the future and strengthened collaboration across all sectors,” The Caspian Post informs via China Daily.

He underlines that this growth in trade and economic relations has continued at an impressive rate, despite global economic headwinds.

“In 2024, bilateral trade reached a historic high of $44 billion, solidifying China’s status as Kazakhstan’s largest trade and economic partner,” the article states.

President Tokayev also highlights that since 2005, Chinese companies have invested over $27 billion into Kazakhstan’s economy, with close to 6,000 enterprises now operating in the country - significantly contributing to technological innovation and industrial modernization.

Additionally, the article praises the development of a modern trade and transport infrastructure, which Tokayev says has reinforced Kazakhstan’s position as a major Eurasian transit hub and reflects China’s strong economic confidence.

It was previously reported that China Daily published President Tokayev’s article, in which he outlines the foundations of effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between Astana and Beijing.
