Russia’s FM to Visit Kazakhstan for High-Level Talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is set to visit Kazakhstan on April 29 for a series of high-level diplomatic meetings.

During the visit, Lavrov is expected to meet with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana. He will later hold talks with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The discussions will focus on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, with emphasis on trade, economic cooperation, cultural ties, and collaboration within major regional organizations such as the EAEU, CSTO, CIS, and SCO.

Lavrov last visited Kazakhstan in April 2025, when he participated in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.
