South Korean Water Companies Eye New Opportunities in Kazakhstan

South Korea will send a public-private delegation to Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation in water management, promote advanced technologies and help Korean companies explore new business opportunities in the Central Asian country.

The delegation will include officials from the foreign and energy ministries, representatives of nine South Korean water companies and members of relevant state-run organizations, Yonhap reports.

During the three-day visit, which runs through October 21, the delegation will hold meetings with major Kazakh water management agencies, visit water and wastewater treatment facilities, and assess ongoing pilot projects to identify opportunities for further cooperation.

The visit builds on efforts by the two countries to deepen collaboration in the water sector. Kazakhstan and South Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on smart water management technologies and have launched pilot projects involving South Korean water industry products and solutions.

The partnership aims to match Kazakhstan’s water management needs with South Korea’s technological expertise, potentially opening new opportunities for Korean companies seeking to enter the Kazakh market.

“We will continue expanding water industry cooperation with Kazakhstan by matching its water management needs with advanced technologies from Korean companies,” South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
