Truck Traffic Jam at Kazakhstan–Russia Border: What’s Happening?

A video circulating in West Kazakhstan Region shows a long line of trucks stretching toward the “Syrym” automobile checkpoint on the border with Russia.

In the footage, a driver says trucks have been waiting since the previous day, with the queue extending beyond the village of Pavlovo, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“We’ve been standing here since yesterday. The border isn’t working,” he claims.

The regional Department of State Revenues stated that operations on the Kazakh side are proceeding as usual. However, the neutral zone toward Russia is currently filled with trucks, and the congestion is reportedly linked to procedures on the Russian side.

A representative of the “Syrym” checkpoint confirmed that all trucks are undergoing inspection as required.
