UAE, Kazakhstan Reaffirm Fast-Growing Strategic Partnership

The UAE and Kazakhstan have reaffirmed their fast-growing strategic partnership during the 10th session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Committee, co-chaired in Astana by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy to Kazakhstan, and Zhaslan Madiyev, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed cooperation across key sectors-including international relations, investment, finance, transport, health, energy, space, and artificial intelligence-reflecting the depth of their long-standing partnership, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Officials noted that non-oil trade reached $5.6 billion in 2024, underscoring strong economic ties and rising mutual investments.

The UAE delegation also highlighted the official visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Astana in May 2025, which opened new opportunities for collaboration in innovation, sustainability, and strategic investment.

Suhail Al Mazrouei emphasized the UAE’s commitment to deepening relations with Kazakhstan, noting that the partnership is built on economic diversification, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.

The session concluded with the signing of the meeting’s official minutes, with both sides pledging to translate joint priorities into concrete outcomes.

On the sidelines, Al Mazrouei chaired a roundtable with Astana International Financial Centre Governor Renat Bekturov to review ongoing UAE-Kazakhstan projects and explore new opportunities for cooperation-especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Al Mazrouei also led the sixth round of political consultations with Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, where the two sides discussed regional developments and bilateral ties. Additional meetings with Kazakh ministers of transport and energy focused on closer coordination in logistics, shipping corridors, and current and future energy projects.
