A delegation led by Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.
The trip comes at the invitation of Kyrgyz CEC Chairman Tynchtyk Shainazarov and includes participation as international observers in Kyrgyzstan’s snap parliamentary elections scheduled for November 30, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
Before election day, the Azerbaijani delegation will review preparations and assess how the electoral process is being organized. On November 30, they will observe voting at polling stations across the country.
The delegation will also take part in the second meeting of the Advisory Platform of the highest electoral bodies of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), set to take place in Bishkek on November 28. Participants will discuss strengthening institutional cooperation in election administration and expanding partnerships among member states.
During the visit, Panahov is expected to meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart, heads of electoral bodies from OTS member countries, representatives of international organizations accredited as observers, and other officials. The meetings will focus on deepening inter-agency ties, exploring new avenues for cooperation, and exchanging best practices in election management.
CEC representatives from Azerbaijan are also involved in observer missions from TURKPA, the OTS, OSCE/ODIHR, and the CIS for Kyrgyzstan’s snap parliamentary elections.
