Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 1 and participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev said during talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

According to Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Ministry, the meeting between the two foreign ministers was held in Cholpon-Ata, with preparations for Xi’s visit and the upcoming SCO summit among the main topics of discussion, The Caspian Post reports.

“There are no contradictions or political disagreements between our states. The implementation of annual exchanges of visits, mutual visits at the highest and high levels has become a good tradition, and the regular political dialogue between us is of a highly trusting nature,” Kulubaev said.

He noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and China continue to develop based on mutual respect, equality and the consideration of both countries’ interests.

The SCO summit, which will bring together leaders of member states, is scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan during the same period as Xi Jinping’s state visit.
