European Commission Approves Kyrgyz Honey Exports

The European Commission has approved a plan allowing the export of Kyrgyz honey and included it in its special list under EU technical regulations permitting imports into the EU.

The decision confirms that Kyrgyzstan’s national system of control and certification fully complies with EU standards, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The European Commission’s move will help expand market access for Kyrgyz honey producers and boost the competitiveness of domestic products on international markets. Previous attempts to enter the European market had been unsuccessful due to the EU’s strict certification requirements, which made exports impossible.

The Ministry of Agriculture said it will continue working to broaden the range of Kyrgyz agricultural products granted access to the EU market, marking an important step forward for the country’s agri-food exports.
