Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has arrived in South Korea for an official visit, where he is set to hold high-level talks and take part in a landmark regional summit.

Japarov was welcomed at Seoul Airport by Kim Han-seung, South Korea’s First Vice Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment, along with other senior officials, according to 24kg.

The Kyrgyz and South Korean national flags were displayed at the airport, while a red carpet and an honor guard ceremony were arranged for the visiting president.

During the visit, Japarov is scheduled to meet with South Korea’s top leadership for bilateral talks focused on strengthening relations between the two countries.

The Kyrgyz president will also participate in the first Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit, bringing together leaders from the region and South Korea.

In addition, Japarov is expected to attend a special session of the business summit, highlighting opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between Central Asian countries and South Korea.
