President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov is preparing for an official visit to Japan.
In Tokyo, Kyrgyz Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev met with Kenichi Kawamura, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to discuss the details of the upcoming visit and ongoing bilateral energy projects, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Key initiatives under coordination include the construction of a training center for Kyrgyzstan’s national energy system, designed to prepare specialists and implement modern operational standards, as well as the modernization of the Kurpsai Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The talks also covered Japan’s involvement in the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydroelectric Power Plant. Japan has committed grants totaling around 4.5 billion yen (approximately $30 million) to support these projects.
