The Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy has announced that a team of Kyrgyz scholars is set to travel to Mongolia to conduct groundbreaking research dedicated to the Kyrgyz people.
Kyrgyz Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev met with the working group prior to their departure to the Bayan-Ölgii and Uvs regions, where the researchers will explore the historical, cultural, and folkloric heritage of the Kyrgyz and related ethnic groups, The Caspian Post reports per Kyrgyz media.
The expedition, organized for the first time by Kyrgyz authorities, aims to revive ethnocultural and historical ties between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia while safeguarding spiritual and material heritage at risk of disappearing.
The findings of the study will be compiled in a scientific publication, and a documentary film documenting the expedition will also be produced.
