Kyrgyz Teen Search Ends in Tragedy After Several Days

A teenager reported missing in Kyrgyzstan has been found dead.

Sanjar Nurlanov was discovered dead. The body of the minor was examined after being recovered from a body of water in the capital. Officials noted that no visible signs of physical injury were found at the scene, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The case has been officially registered, and a forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

The boy went missing on April 4 after leaving his home on Shabdan Baatyr Street around 6 p.m. and never returning. His mother reported him missing to the police on April 6.

Following the report, police launched a large-scale search operation, involving the full personnel of the city police. Search alerts were distributed to relevant units, while volunteers and bloggers also joined the efforts. Information about the disappearance spread widely across social media and messaging platforms.

Authorities said searches included door-to-door checks, route tracing, and reviewing surveillance camera footage as part of the investigation.
