Aisuluu Tynybekova, Kyrgyz two-time Olympic medalist and World Cup champion in freestyle wrestling, has been named Ambassador for the upcoming 6th World Nomad Games.
In this role, she will help promote the 2026 event both within Kyrgyzstan and internationally, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
The World Nomad Games are dedicated to celebrating the culture and traditions of nomadic peoples while encouraging international cooperation in sports and culture. The Games have grown into a global event, drawing athletes worldwide, boosting tourism, and fostering cultural exchange and dialogue.
Tynybekova’s impressive achievements include six Asian Championships, three World Championship titles, and a World Cup victory. She won a silver medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and secured a bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 6th edition of the Games is scheduled to run from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The opening ceremony will be held in Bishkek, with competitions and the closing ceremony hosted in the scenic Issyk-Kul region. The event is expected to attract participants and visitors from 89 countries.
Highlighting the rich heritage of Central Asia’s nomadic peoples, the World Nomad Games feature a range of ethnic sports and cultural activities, offering a unique platform to preserve and share nomadic traditions on the global stage.
