Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan Seal $157M Deals in Kabul

The Kyrgyz Export Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, has co-organized the Kyrgyz-Afghan Business Forum in Kabul.

At the forum, Director of the Kyrgyz Export Center Urmat Takirov presented Kyrgyzstan’s export potential to Afghan partners, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The event resulted in the signing of 11 agreements of intent for the supply of goods and services totaling $157 million. The agreements span a wide range of sectors, including telecommunications equipment, cement, footwear, pharmaceuticals, honey, logistics services, and agricultural products.

The business forum brought together more than 100 representatives of government agencies and business communities from both Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan, highlighting strong interest in expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

The Kyrgyz delegation was led by Bakyt Sydykov, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic. As part of his visit, the Kyrgyz Trade House was officially opened in Kabul. The visit also included a series of bilateral meetings focused on expanding mutual trade, strengthening export cooperation, and launching joint projects.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed its gratitude to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Afghanistan for its high level of organizational support and assistance in successfully holding the forum.

Earlier, speaking at a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underscored the importance of continued support for Afghanistan, highlighting Kazakhstan’s role in promoting peace and stability across the region.
