Kyrgyzstan has secured third place among Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries in pasta production for January 2025.
With a total CIS output of 138,000 tons for the month, Kyrgyzstan produced around 3,200 tons, trailing only Russia and Kazakhstan, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Between January and September 2024, Kyrgyzstan’s pasta exports surpassed $5.8 million, including nearly 1,200 tons shipped to Uzbekistan - a 53 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
During the first nine months of 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported 3,087.4 tons of pasta worth 495.7 million soms ($39.298 million). Key export destinations included Kazakhstan (1,652.7 tons), Russia (1,328.9 tons), Belarus, and Armenia.
