Kyrgyzstan Eases Entry Rules for Chinese Workers on Major Project

Kyrgyzstan has moved to simplify entry rules for foreign specialists involved in a major investment project at Issyk-Kul.

Under a new Cabinet of Ministers decision, up to 500 Chinese citizens working on a waste processing project in Issyk-Kul Region will be exempt from paying consular visa fees, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The project is being implemented by Junxin Huanbao (Ysyk-Köl) and is aimed at improving waste disposal infrastructure in the popular lake region.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry has been tasked with handling the procedures, while oversight of the decision will come from the presidential administration.

The new rules are set to take effect in 10 days.
