Kyrgyzstan Foils Terror Plot, Detains 31 Suspects in Security Operation - VIDEO

The officers of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security have prevented a series of planned terrorist attacks after detaining 31 suspects during a large-scale counterterrorism operation in the country's southern territory.

The operation was carried out in the Osh and Batken regions. The suspects were linked to banned extremist and terrorist groups and were planning attacks targeting law enforcement personnel and religious figures, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Kyrgyzstan.

Security forces conducted multiple searches during the operation, seizing extremist literature, four firearms, and cash.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to identify possible accomplices and trace the group's sources of funding.
