The Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a storm warning for August 8, cautioning residents of Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions about unstable weather conditions.
Heavy localized rains are expected in the mountainous and foothill areas, increasing the risk of mudslides and causing river water levels to rise, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Authorities advise people to avoid visiting mountain areas and to remain in safe locations during this period. Residents are also urged to clear irrigation channels and strengthen their banks to prevent flooding.
In case of emergencies, the public is encouraged to promptly contact emergency services by dialing 112.
