The seventh Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum has started in Cholpon-Ata, featuring welcoming messages from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In his opening address, Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, emphasized the forum’s role in sharing expertise, fostering joint initiatives, and strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties, The Caspian Post informs, citing Kyrgyz media.

He highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s 10th anniversary in the Eurasian Economic Union, noting growth in GDP, reduced unemployment, and progress in key sectors.

The forum, themed “Digital Sovereignty as a Driver of Economic Growth”, focused on advancing digital transformation, including programs like “Digital Kyrgyzstan” and “Startup Kyrgyzstan.” Amangeldiev spotlighted the High Technology Park, home to 477 companies generating 11.4 billion soms ($130.509 million), and discussed expanding tourism infrastructure, including year-round mountain resorts.

“Holding the forum on the picturesque shores of Issyk-Kul will showcase our tourism potential and attract new investment,” Amangeldiev added.
