Kyrgyzstan's President Meets Armenian Parliament Speaker

Today, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Alen Simonyan, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia, during his official visit to the country.

The press service of the Kyrgyz president said that the parties discussed deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation, noting the importance of parliamentary dialogue for strengthening bilateral relations, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.

Sadyr Zhaparov, welcoming Alen Simonyan and members of the National Assembly of Armenia, noted that he highly appreciates the consistent development of multifaceted bilateral cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Armenia, based on friendship, mutual respect and trust.

The president focused on the need to intensify the activities of parliamentary friendship groups of Kyrgyzstan and Armenia in order to, on the one hand, promote the development of parliamentary institutions in our countries, and on the other, increase the effectiveness of parliamentary support for promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

The head of state expressed confidence that such steps will contribute to the exchange of legislative experience and, in general, strengthen comprehensive cooperation.

In this regard, he expressed hope that contacts between the parliaments of the two countries, as well as the exchange of experience in the law-making sphere will consistently expand.

Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan noted that the international relations of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan are stable and constructive and are based on mutual respect and open dialogue.

In addition, he emphasized that cooperation between the countries has significant potential, including in the development of cooperation in the field of innovation and technology, as well as in interaction in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
