Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree on the reorganization of the management system in the field of education and science.
Two independent ministries are being created on the basis of the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovation, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
According to the document, the following are being created:
The Ministry of Education will oversee pre-school, primary, basic and secondary general education, as well as primary vocational education;
The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation will be responsible for scientific, scientific-technical and innovative activities, higher education and intellectual property issues.
In addition, the National Attestation Commission under the President will be transformed into the Higher Attestation Commission, which is the part of the structure of the new Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation.
The decree emphasizes that the goal of the reforms is to form an integrated and results-oriented system of public administration, increase the efficiency of administration in the field of higher education and science, and expand opportunities for young scientists in research and innovation activities.
