For the first time in its history, Kyrgyzstan will host the Mountain Sports Tourism World Cup, bringing together elite athletes and adventure enthusiasts from across the globe.
Held from November 10 to 16 near Osh, the competition will take place on the Kerme-Too mountain range, where a challenging rock course is being prepared to test participants’ mountaineering and rescue skills in real alpine conditions, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
“This is a proud moment for our country,” said Vladimir Agafonov, President of the Sports Tourism Federation. “Kyrgyzstan’s stunning mountains and warm hospitality make it the perfect stage for a world-class event.”
Over 50 athletes from countries including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are expected to compete for the podium in this high-adrenaline showcase of speed, teamwork, and technical mastery.
The World Cup aims to promote Kyrgyzstan as a tourism destination, grow interest in sports tourism, and foster international connections through extreme sports.
